In the place of prayer, the Lord opened my eyes and I saw these words written clearly before me: "SPIRITUAL BESPOKE — MATERIALISM IN DISGUISE." He immediately dropped Matthew 4:10 in my spirit. I looked up the meaning of "bespoke" and discovered that it means custom-made. And the Lord began to speak...
The Word of the Lord
"My standards none can change — it remains as long as I remain God. I will not bow nor lower the standards for certain men, people, nation, or generation. I will weigh men and judge in accordance with the standards, principles, and governing rules that I have set aforetime. Man has the ability to achieve this in Me, but they have chosen to stay hidden, not publicly declare that they stand for Me and with Me. They have carved another path for themselves.
Nothing can be built in the midst of lawlessness and lack of governance. Broken standards lead to broken lives. There is such a thing called 'The Medal,' which is won at the completion of a race or a game — there is always a price for this, and men will have to wear it boldly — either a badge of shame or a badge of honor. Do not twist My words nor My standards, for there are consequences to this action."
Tailor-Made Faith: The Bespoke Deception
We are now in a time where many want a customized version of Christianity — one that fits their desires and not God's will. "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine… they will heap up for themselves teachers." — 2 Timothy 4:3. This is the spirit of bespoke faith — mixing God's Word with personal ambition and calling it obedience.
Materialism in Holy Robes
Bespoke spirituality is materialism in disguise. It's not always about cars, cash, or clothes — it's about serving self under a spiritual covering. You may speak in tongues and still worship status. Fast, yet live for fame. Preach, but build your kingdom, not God's. "You cannot serve God and mammon." — Matthew 6:24.
The Medal: Shame or Honor?
Every race has a reward. Apostle Paul said: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race…" — 2 Timothy 4:7–8. You don't finish well by redesigning the path. You finish well by walking in the narrow way of Christ. God's standards are not negotiable.
Let's reject bespoke spirituality. Let's embrace the cross, the fear of God, truth without compromise, and holiness without dilution. "Do not be conformed to this world…" — Romans 12:2.
